Ans:- Mahen's friends proposed him to lead them in an uruka adventure.

Ans: The age old custom that Mahen was referring to was  they pickup vegetables when people went to home.

Ans: Mahen was jumpe up excitedly at their proposal.

(f) What did the boys do after the feast?

Ans: After the feast, the boys went to Shantiram's house for the pickup vegetables.

Ans: Shantiram was a retired Army man.

(h) Why was Shantiram sitting wrapped in a black blanket? where was Shantiram

 sitting?

Ans: Shantiram was sitting wrapped in a black blanket because he knew someone might pick up his vegetables. He was sitting in the middle of the vegetable garden.

(i) What was the black heap of garbage that Mahen noticed?

Ans: The black heap of garbage that Mahen noticed was actually Shantiram wrapped in his black blanket.

 

(j) What made the night appear more haunting?

Ans: The repeated screeching of an owl made the night seem more haunting.

(k) Why did the boys run away from the garden?

Ans: The boy run away from the garden because they saw a ghosts.

 

(l) What happened when the boys were about to pick the vegetables?

Ans: Just as the boys were about to pick the vegetables, a pile of garbage suddenly jerked and moved towards them, scaring them.

 

(m) Who did the boys think chased them?

Ans: The boys thought that a ghost chased them.
